Privacy notice

Last updated September 2026

This notice explains what happens to the information you give me through this website. If anything here is unclear, email me at miranda.seymour@travelcounsellors.com and I will answer you personally.

Who I am

Seymour Escapes is the trading name of Miranda Seymour, a Travel Counsellor based in London. My business is run in partnership with Travel Counsellors Limited.

For the enquiries and sign-ups you send through this website, and for my own marketing, I am a separate controller of your information under data protection law. When your enquiry becomes a booking, your information is entered into the Travel Counsellors system, and from that point Travel Counsellors Limited and I are joint controllers of it. Their customer privacy notice explains how they handle it, and it is published at travelcounsellors.co.uk. You can contact their data protection team at DPO@travelcounsellors.com.

What I collect, and why

  • Enquiries. Your name, email address and whatever you tell me about the trip you have in mind. I use this to reply to you and to plan your travel. The lawful basis is your consent, and my legitimate interest in answering people who contact my business.
  • Newsletter sign-ups. Your email address, so I can send you occasional travel writing. The lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
  • Nothing else. This site does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and I do not profile visitors.

Who else sees it

My website and its database are hosted by Floot, and notification emails are sent through their email service. When you become a client, your information goes into the Travel Counsellors system and is shared with the airlines, hotels and operators needed to arrange your trip. Because travel is international, that can involve transfers outside the UK, and Travel Counsellors put contractual safeguards in place for those transfers. Neither Travel Counsellors nor I sell your information for anyone else’s marketing.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to me. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Booking records are kept for as long as is needed to meet legal, regulatory, accounting and reporting requirements, which is governed by the Travel Counsellors retention policy.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, or object to how I use it. You can unsubscribe from anything I send at any time. Email me at miranda.seymour@travelcounsellors.com and I will deal with it within a month. For anything held in the Travel Counsellors system, you can also contact DPO@travelcounsellors.com.

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
